You get in your car and turn on the radio to jam out to some tunes. However, the first thing you hear after you turn on the radio is another Lady Gaga song that's been at the top of the billboard charts for 2 months. You decide against the radio, and you throw in a burned CD. You have quite possibly heard every song on this CD 50 times. It's times like this that you need a little help finding some new music. The Musical Miner will search and dig deep underground to find those "hidden gems" that you have not heard or noticed yet. We will not only keep your music library fresh, but you can brag to your friends months later after a artist hits big with a, "yeah I had a few of his songs on one of my CD's back in December." So strap on your hardhat and let's go searching for your next favorite artists.

White Rappers on the rise

As it has been since the beginning of  hip hop, the genre has been dominated by rappers of black heritage. Recently however, there have been a few white rappers to emerge with something to bring to the table. Here are just a few who have shown some promise....

Mac Miller

Ok.. so you probably have heard of this guy before if you pay attention to rap at all. I thought I'd put him on here anyways though.

Yelawolf

Yelawolf is an american rapper currently signed with Shady records. In many of his songs he talks about coming from a small town in Alabama. His debut album with Shady records named Radioactive was released on November 21, 2011. It appeared on the billboard top 200 at #27.

Mike Stud

Mike Stud began making his name from the beginning from something other than his rap game. He was known as one of the best baseball players to come out of the Providence, Rhode Island area earning the states 2006 Gatorade Player of the year award. While he was injured during his sophomore season he began rapping to pass the time. Many of his teammates and friends noticed how lyrically talented he was and encouraged him to pursue it more. Now he has established himself as a rising force in the rap game with hundreds of thousands of views of his videos on youtube. He even collaberated with former Dukie Mike Posner.
